Dior Holiday Couture Eyeshadow Palettes Review

I love eyeshadow. I’ve mentioned It so many times on my blog but I can’t get enough of it! Makeup lovers are always being treated to new releases and new brands are surfacing every day. This Christmas my Mum and Dad treated me to the new Dior holiday couture eyeshadow palettes.  I’ve never owned an eyeshadow from Dior before so I was very excited. The packaging was so pretty and all the shadows looked to be amazing quality!

Glow & Smoky Contrast Colour Design Eye Palette

Dior Holiday Couture Eyeshadow Palettes

This palette is said to be inspired by runway shows. The shades are predominantly nudes (my favs) and have both shimmer and matte finishes. Allowing you to create natural nude looks or smoky sophisticated ones.

Shade 713 (powdery light pink)- Shade 567 (iridescent purple)- Shade 777 (iridescent dark purple)- Shade 010 (slurry light pink)- Shade 693 (brown warm)

The palette comes with a small booklet that suggests 2 different types of looks to try out.

Look one involves using shades 1,2 & 3 (as shown on my hand) – shade 1 is applied to the brow bone area whilst shade 2 covers the eyelid and shade 3 is used for definition in the crease and along the lower lash line.

Look two involves using shades 1, 4&5 (as shown on my hand) – shade 1 is again applied on the brow bone. Then enhance your eyes along the upper and lower lash lines using shade 5. shade 4 is then used to highlight the center of the eyelid and inner corner of the eye.

Dior Emerald Eye Palette

The next palette I tried out was the Dior Emerald palette. I loved this from the moment I saw it, I thought it was so different, and that colour in the centre. Wow.

The shades are as follows:

Emerald 1 (top left):  It’s a warm yellow and a shimmery finish. The pigmentation was a great and shadow texture was smooth.

Emerald 2 (top right): This is a pearly shade with light green tones.

Emerald 3 (centre): My favourite shade, a teal-emerald shimmer shade.

Emerald 4 (bottom left): This shade was more of a lime green to me. Again it has that shimmer finish.

Emerald 5 (bottom right): This shade is a dark green, it would work great for a dramatic smoky eye. I did experience more fallout when using this one.

I love this collection of eyeshadow shades. On the whole I found them blendable and easy to work with. With minimal fallout and good colour pay off.
