For my 22nd Birthday me and my boyfriend went down to Prêt-à-Portea at The Berkley hotel in Knightsbridge to have an afternoon tea said to be inspired by “the themes and colours of the fashion world”. The menu is also updated every 6 months to reflect the fashion seasons.
We booked about 3 months in advance, I think it’s quite a popular Tea, so if you are looking at booking there may be a slight wait. >We were sat down right away, with a pink shoe gracing our table with my boyfriend’s name on it (Sorry J!). We were asked what type of tea we would like (they had a massive selection), caramel, chocolate mint and more! I don’t actually drink tea – yes I know – shock horror please don’t shoot me! But they made me a lovely hot chocolate instead!
They bought out sandwiches first, and we were given a selection of Salmon (my personal favourite) beef, egg and cress and a few more, however the real show stoppers were the beautiful cakes and biscuits.

Tory Burch’s glamorous violet halterneck biscuit bikini with magenta icing – Probably the nicest biscuit I have ever had – it tasted so fruity!
Alexander McQueen whimsical yellow honeycomb cream oversized dress topped with marzipan bee – Honeycomb is always a winner in my eyes.
Balenciaga modern monochrome dark and white chocolate mousse dress set on a pecan nut brownie topped with flamenco ruffles – I live on chocolate and love brownies.
This was such a lovely treat and an awesome way to spend my birthday. I loved having a look through the little menu they provided and seeing the outfits that they had based the cakes on. A complete must for anyone who loves fashion!
