Christmas. The perfect time to ask friends and family for those sought after items that you want to add to your make up collection. One of my most sought after items was the Zoeva cafe eyeshadow palette which I was lucky to receive in my stocking. It’s said to offer an assortment of coffee-toned shades and is inspired by the atmosphere of a coffee house. I was really drawn to the different colours. As someone who almost always opts for neutral palettes, this palette with its mixture of pinks, green and the odd neutral thrown in really appealed to me.
The palette presents shades with both matte and metallic finishes so you get the best of both worlds. The formulation is enriched with Vitamin E and free from anything nasty like mineral oil and parabens.
The Shades
Microfoam – a matte beige
Distinct Experience – shimmering pearlescent pink
No Added Spice – shimmering lime green
Tasting Note – light cherry
Herrengasse – a khaki green
Nuanced History – a peachy nude
Micro Roasting – a cherry with added shimmer
Cup of Joy –a rich brown
Talk. Write. Read – a shimmering plum
Shine Bright – a shimmering deep leafy green
What Did I Think?
The palette is limited edition. As such it can only be bought on Zoeva.com. It offers up a nice alternative to some of the nude palettes out on the market at the moment and incorporates colours you see less of like greens.
The palette cost £17.50 and I think after delivery it came to a grand total of £20. Overall I got on well with the shades. They were easy to blend and I didn’t experience massive amounts of fallout. My favourite shade had to be “distinct experience” I just love the pearly pink, it incorporated so nicely with some of my favourite nude shades from other palettes. My least favourite shade was “shine bright”. I found it a tad bit chalky, and I did notice a bit more fallout from it, perhaps as it’s dark it showed up more.
Overall I really like the palette and think I will often find myself reaching for it. I really want to try a look out with that lovely lime green! Have you used a Zoeva palette before?
