The Stila magnificent metals glitter & glow liquid eyeshadows have been making their way around the blogosphere for a while now! I had seen some amazing looks created with these liquid eyeshadows and knew I had to get my hands on some. I opted for the shades “sunset cove” from the mermaid collection, and “smoky storm” from the main collection.
The product is a liquid, glitter metallic eyeshadow. The product comes with a large brush applicator that allows you to dispense a generous amount of product onto your eyelids. It glides on easily and is extremely lightweight. The formula is water-infused. It dries down very evenly. I found the easiest way to apply the shadow was to deposit some on my lid from the brush and then gently pat it across my lid with a finger. I did experience a little fallout, but it was nothing compared to some glitter packed eyeshadow products I have used in the past.
Basically these shadows are like jewels for your eyes. They just add that final touch to every makeup look and are the perfect mix of beautiful holographic shimmer and sparkling shadow. The varying sizes of pearl and glitter combine to produce the maximum sparkle.
Why They Are Amazing
- Once applied they stay put
- Easy to apply and smooth to spread across the eyelid
- They don’t feel cakey, nor do your eyelids feel like they are packed heavily with glitter thanks to the water based formula.
The shade “sunset cove” is a duo chrome in a baby pink with gold reflects. It’s quite holographic and I find it worked amazingly in combination with “smoky storm”.
“Smoky storm” is a light pewter shade with silver reflects. It works well when trying to create a neutral themed look, which are always my favs!

The shadows are priced at £23 each. They are on the pricey side, but I think once you have one there will be no going back and you’ll want to use them in every look. If only my bank balance permitted me to buy every shade in the range!
