Too Faced Pretty Rich Palette Review & Swatches

You may have read in my previous post that I had the opportunity to work with Hostels.com. As part of my post I dropped into the Too Faced shop on Carnaby Street in Soho and picked up the pretty rich palette. The palette is comprised of 16 shades inspired by the beauty of diamonds and packed with sparkly jewel tones.

The Packaging

The palette is in a very sturdy box, it sort of reminds me of a jewellery box. It has a small heart clasp on the opening and is quite heavy. Inside the palette there is a small mirror inside the lid, surrounded by a satin black background. The palette wouldn’t really be a great candidate for travel due to its weight. Inside the packaging there is a little booklet that details ways to create different looks using the shadows.

The Shadows

The top half of the palette contains shadows in more neutral and pink tones. The bottom half contains some darker shades which are great for adding some depth. The palette contains 4 glitter shades which are contained within gel bases. They apply really well with minimal fallout which is great for a glitter product.  When I bought this the shop assistant recommended that I team the glitters with a “glitter glue” (also sold by Too Faced I believe) However I found that they applied nicely with a finger patted onto the lid layered on top of my P Louise base.

There are also a number of mattes in the palette. I found them to apply easily and many of them were ideal crease and transition shades. Pigmentation was also very good.

Finally the palette contains some shimmery satin shades. I found these to be the least pigmented of the bunch, but they were still pretty on the eye. They complimented the mattes and glitters nicely and were easy enough to blend.

Overall I think the palette is really versatile. You can create more classic neutral toned looks, or go all out with a blue eyeshadow and silver glitter topper. Priced at £39 you can find the palette on the Too Faced website. For 16 shades worth of product and also the bonus that the products are cruelty free!
