Revolution Foil Frenzy Eyeshadow Palette Review

I’m a big fan of Revolution products. They’re usually good quality and don’t break the bank. So when I saw they had released a “foil frenzy” palette my interest was piqued. Marketed as having excellent colour payoff in one swipe, intensity and a great formula I had to have it. At £8 it’d be rude not to!

Formula and Application

This is a 15 shade palette. The eyeshadow pigment is poured and not pressed. The formula feels really soft but it doesn’t crumble like other shadows. I’d describe it as very “buttery”.

The shades feature a good amount of neutrals but also some more intense colours like a vibrant pink in the middle row. You do get a large amount of colour pay off with just one swipe so it’s important not to be too heavy handed with your application.

I did apply these with a slightly damp flat brush, but you can also use a finger. I definitely wouldn’t use a fluffy brush as you will get little to no pigment on the brush. Whats important to note is all of the shades within this palette are metallic. Creating a eye look using just these shadows would probably look a bit crazy. I found that the best way to use them was to have them as an accent within an eye look. Often I’d apply a matte shade to my crease and outer corner, and then cut my crease and apply one of the foil shadows as an accent.

Swatches

The intensity and payoff of the shadows can be seen in the swatches below. All swatches were one swipe with a finger and as you can see the colour is very prominent.

All the shades are super blendable too so you won’t be spending hours trying to incorporate them into a look.
