Neons have been quite a trend this year, so it’s only suitable that makeup brands jumped on the bandwagon too. Enter the Huda Beauty green neon obsessions palette. This palette is actually 1 in a line of 3 different colours, with the other options being pink and orange.
This slimline palette is made up of 9 shimmer and matte shadows. I was immediately drawn to it as I thought it offered a good combination of fun but yet also very wearable shades. I do love a shimmer especially when creating a statement eye look and I felt of all 3 options this palette had the best selection.
The Shades and Formula
Priced at £27, the top row of the palette offers up the brightest shades of the bunch, the greens. Whilst they are bright they certainly aren’t unwearable and I feel you can incorporate pops of these colours into more muted looks.
The rest of the palette is made up of more nude shades. Overall I found that the mattes in the palette could be a little dry. They did come with some fallout and it took a couple of swipes to build up a more intense colour.
The shimmers definitely look better on the eye if applied with a fingertip. When I tried applying them with a brush I found they went on a bit more patchy. However with my fingers I got a more even and smooth application of pigment.
Of all the shades I have to say that #9 and #4 were my favourites.
#4 is a medium peach pink shade with a frosty finish. It felt nice and creamy in the pan and applied well with my finger. #9 is a cool toned pink with green and silver undertones. I love cool toned shadows and this one worked really well in combination with #8 which is a peach-coral matte.
Overall I really like this palette. It’s slim enough that it doesn’t take up unnecessary space and it gives you enough colours to create a multitude of different looks. Whether they are more nude-focused or with a pop of neon green.
