Last week I was given the opportunity by Flipside PR to review a new range of lipglosses by Essence. The Essence plumping nudes lipgloss. These glosses are available in 7 different shades. I was sent 3 – 01 XXL charm, 03 she’s so extra and 06 big bang.
Marketed as helping you to create fuller lips in seconds the glosses are enriched with shea butter. They give a lovely shine together with a cooling sensation. One thing I absolutely hate about some lipglosses is that they are super sticky, these ones are really nice though. They’re fairly thick in consistency but don’t really make your lips feel heavy or stuck together.
The applicator comes in the form of a doe foot which is fairly standard for lipglosses. It’s easy enough to apply the product and the tip gives enough precision to fill in the lip area without having to tidy up afterwards.
As mentioned above the gloss does come with a sort of cooling sensation. It’s nothing crazy but your lips do feel a bit tingly after application. I don’t know if they necessarily made my lips any larger but certainly gave them a beautiful shine and a more even finish. I remember being a teenager and using the “big fatty” lip plumper by Urban Decay, I kind of hate-liked it as it would make my lips bigger but applying it was almost painful! I’m glad these glosses don’t do that!
The shades shown below are 01 XXL charm, 03 she’s so extra and 06 big bang.
The shades on my lips are 06 big bang, 03 she’s so extra and 01 XXL charm. I have to say I think that number 3 is my favourite – it’s more of a peachy toned nude that mimics the colour of my lips the best. Having said that all the shades are super wearable. There are 7 in the entire collection ranging from sheerer to deeper tones meaning there is one to suit most skin tones.
The best thing is that these glosses are only £2.30, yes people £2.30! They can be found in Wilko stores or on wilko online at wilko.co.uk
