The Huda Beauty Sticky Tack Lash Glue – Does It Work?

Eyelash glue can be quite a tricky product. I find some too watery, some not sticky enough and have made my way through a fair number of different options over the years. For quite some time now I’ve been using the House of Lashes glue which I love and get on very well with. However when new products pop onto the scene I am always interested. Lash glue isn’t the most exciting area of makeup ever so it’s cool to see companies pushing the boundaries. Enter the new Huda Beauty sticky tack lash glue.

This lash glue is said to be the first ever re-stickable lash glue. Basically if you put your lashes on wrong the first time, you can peel them off and try again. Naturally I was intrigued. Although my fake eyelash application has come on leaps and bounds sometimes I will still struggle with getting them to go on right the first time.

So what did I do? I bought the £14 tube (very pricey) and put the formula to the test. The first thing to note is the glue is latex free, so suitable for those with allergies. It dries clear and has been opthalmologically tested.

Here’s how I used it to apply my lashes:

  1. Squeeze the tube and apply a line of glue along the lash band (it’s worth noting the tube is a bit sensitive, so don’t squeeze too hard or you might end up with glue everywhere)
  2. I actually applied the glue right at the beginning of putting my makeup on and let it sit on the lashes. You don’t have to worry about the glue drying up as it’s tacky. It can literally sit and chill on the lashes until you are ready to apply them and yes, the glue will still be sticky.
  3. Place the band on the lash line and press down.
  4. If I did want to reposition the lash it was easy to peel it off and reposition. After this I would poke it into place with my tweezers.

So What Did I Think?

I was actually impressed with this lash glue. Although it’s very pricey I thought it did a good job. The formula is very sticky. So if you get a bit on your hands or fingers they will probably get stuck together after a while.

I do like the novelty of “re-stickable” lashes. I only re-stuck mine once but they appeared to hold on to the lash line just as well the second time. The formula is also quite runny and wet. You have to be careful when applying that it doesn’t go all over your lashes – precision is key!

Once on the lashes were on for the long haul. The glue claims to last for about 12 hours. (I didn’t wear my lashes for this long) but the time that I did have them on for they were on there tightly.

I’m not saying rush out there and buy this ASAP but if you’re in the market for a new glue and like a bit of novelty then this is definitely one to check out. I purchased mine from Cult Beauty for £14.
